Part 1. Introduction
This process provides information on when and how Faculty Performance Evaluations are completed based on their appointment status. The purpose of the evaluation is to:
- maintain and/or raise the quality of instruction and educational services available to the students of our college
- aid the individual faculty member to improve professionally
- gather information for staff development decisions and activities
Part 2. Unlimited Full- and Part-Time Faculty (non-probationary)
Performance evaluation for non-probationary unlimited full-time faculty will be conducted once every three (3) years. The performance evaluation may include, but is not limited to:
- classroom observation
- professional development plan review
- Performance evaluation form
- critical self-reflection at the end of each AY
- artifacts (syllabi, course evaluations, etcetera)
Part 3. Unlimited Full- and Part-Time Faculty (probationary)
Performance evaluation for non-probationary unlimited full-time faculty will be conducted once each year. The performance evaluation may include, but is not limited to:
- classroom observation
- professional development plan review
- Performance evaluation form
- critical self-reflection at the end of each AY
- artifacts (syllabi, course evaluations, etcetera)
Part 4. Temporary Full Time, Temporary Part Time, and Adjunct Faculty
For new Temporary Full Time, Temporary Part Time, and Adjunct faculty the evaluation process may include, but is not limited to:
- classroom observation during first semester assignment
- critical self-reflection at the end of each AY
- artifacts (syllabi, course evaluations, etcetera)
For returning Temporary Full Time, Temporary Part Time, and Adjunct faculty the evaluation process may include, but is not limited to:
- classroom observation every three (3) years
- performance evaluation every three (3) years
- critical self-reflection at the end of each AY
- artifacts (syllabi, course evaluations, etcetera)
