If your Android device has already connected to eduroam before August 2023, please forget the network before proceeding.
This article will walk you through the configuration and setup of the eduroam wireless network on an Android device such as a phone or tablet.
From the home screen, select the Settings app.
From the Settings app, select “Network & internet”.
Within Network & internet select "Internet".
From the available wireless networks, select "eduroam".
Select your connection settings: EAP method: PEAP, Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2, CA Certificate: Trust on First Use or Don't validate.
Use login credentials, username: StarID@go.minnstate.edu (students) or StarID@minnstate.edu (staff) and enter your StarID password and click "Connect".
You may be prompted with the following screen. If so, you are receiving this screen because the Root Certificate Authority which signed the authentication server's identity certificate is not trusted by your device. This is normal. Please ensure the certificate name ends in "metrostate.edu" and the certificate is "Issued by InCommon RSA Server CA". Once confirmed, select the "Yes, connect" option in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.
Once authenticated, you will now be connected to eduroam.
